Daughters of the American Revolution (Exhibits)
Location: Detroit Historical Museum

Daughters of the American Revolution, open through November 2, 2008, celebrates America’s journey to independence and the contributions of our patriot ancestors. Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a service organization, are direct descendents of Revolutionary War soldiers and patriots. Since its founding on January 19, 1893, the Louisa St. Clair Chapter has served the Detroit metropolitan community with patriotic, educational, conservation and historic preservation projects. A total of 147 of the chapter’s current members worked to make this new exhibit a reality at the Detroit Historical Museum. The John Paul Jones Society, Children of the American Revolution, sponsored by the Louisa St. Clair Chapter since 1897, also has an exhibit within the DAR exhibit where visitors will see World War II-era Army items, a school desk and a Girl Scout uniform from that era.
